Yahoo disposable email addresses - not free any more

Yahoo mail so far had a very useful anti spam feature called "disposable email addresses". Yahoo users were able to create upto 500 temporary/disposable email addresses which they can discard any time without affecting the main account. Users were able to delete and recreate email addresses temporarily upto a max of 500 addresses at a time. This was not only useful in preventing spam, but also in organizing the emails.

The disposable email addresses feature is no more free. Those who are already using the feature still have it as on the time of writing this post, but for others it is a paid option. The feature has moved to spam section in the new yahoo interface and is a paid option. For some users, it is still not part of the spam section, but it will not create the base name which is required for the disposable address.

This is a very useful feature of Yahoo Mail and it should be continued. What do you say?

Update/correction: While the paid option is true, it is still free for some accounts(even for those who were previously not using). So check your yahoo options and activate it while it is still free for your account.

Update: In October 2013, Yahoo unveiled their new version with new look and features. With this certain features are made free to all the users out of which Disposable Email Addresses is one. So now Disposable Email Addresses are available to all users irrespective of whether it is a paid or free account. This is a welcome addition by Yahoo!. Thanks Yahoo.

Enjoy your Disposable Email Addresses in Yahoo.
