Windows 7 Screen Orientation

In Windows 7(may be Windows Vista too which I did not use), the screen orientation can be quickly changed using the following combination keys.

Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow : For normal viewing
Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow : For upside down viewing
Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow : Left side of the screen is upside now
Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow : Right side of the screen is upside

Notice that the arrow you press corresponds to the upside, i.e., if you press the right arrow, right side of the screen is the upside.

Where can you this?

  • Say you have visited a website or viewing photos on a friends shared album where in one of the images is not rotated properly. You either have to bend your head or the laptop to get a proper view. You can use the above key shortcuts to quickly rotate the orientation and have a great view.
  • If you a group of people around the table are having a look at the monitor lying flat on the table, it may sometimes be necessary to rotate it, you can quickly do that. We often do this in a conference room where we have a flat monitor facing upwards.
  • Any where you need to quickly change screen orientation.

Thankyou.
