Seems like google has set a limit on how many contacts can be transferred on each sync operation.
I'm using SyncML to sync my Nokia S60 phone to sync with google contacts. I've been doing this for past two or three years. Couple of times I've reset my phones and after reset a simple sync with google used to restore all my contacts in the phone.
This week when I sync'd my phone with google after a reset, it was only updating 50 contacts out of my 708 contacts. I initially suspected either
a bug in phone or the google db. So I tried several reset sync operations. Then tried restoring google contact database to some previous dates, but nothing helped. Each time it would add only add 50 contacts to the phone.
Finally when I tried multiple Sync operations, my phone contacts are completely restored. It took 14 Sync operations to restore the 700 contacts. 15th Sync operation added 8 contacts completing my 708 contacts. 16th operation did not change anything on either server or phone.
Seems like the 50 limit is new as I never had this issue before.
If you are facinga similar issue, be ready for multiple Syncs. If you have 3000 contacts, you will have to sync 60 times. :)
